Helping kids thrive through personalized, play-based therapy.
Welcome!
Seawinds Pediatric Therapy provides in-home and community-based occupational therapy services for children in Palm Beach and the Treasure Coast. We serve children with a wide range of diagnoses—as well as those without a formal diagnosis—offering personalized, play-based interventions that are both child-led and therapist-directed.
At Seawinds, we believe therapy should be engaging, fun, and rooted in evidence-based practice. By incorporating play at the core of each session, we create a positive, meaningful experience that supports growth and development in a natural way.
We are proud to be an approved provider for the Step Up For Students Family Empowerment Scholarship for Students with Unique Abilities (FES-UA) scholarship.

Hi there! I'm Dr. Kelly Childress, OTD, OTR/L, a board-certified and state-licensed occupational therapist. I earned both my undergraduate and doctoral degrees from the University of Florida—Go Gators!
I’m passionate about helping children develop the skills they need to participate fully in daily life—from school and sports to self-care and mealtime. I take pride in building strong, meaningful relationships with each child and their family, ensuring that therapy is collaborative, joyful, and impactful.
My practice is rooted in evidence-based methods and enriched by a play-centered approach. I have extensive experience with sensory-based interventions, allowing me to support a wide variety of developmental needs through a holistic, brain-and-body perspective.
Born and raised in Palm Beach County, I love spending time at the beach, diving into a good book, or relaxing at home with my husband Ryan, and our two dogs, Misty & Ralph.

A comprehensive evaluation is the first step in your child’s therapy journey. This process identifies both strengths and areas of need through standardized assessments, clinical observation, and caregiver input. By gaining a clear, objective understanding of your child’s current abilities, we establish a strong foundation for tracking growth and guiding treatment.
Comprehensive Evaluation
Following the evaluation, individualized treatment may be recommended based on your child’s specific needs. Therapy sessions are scheduled collaboratively between the therapist and family and are typically held in-person—whether at home, school, or in a community setting. Sessions follow a consistent schedule (e.g., Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00–11:00 AM) and focus on building functional skills through playful, purposeful intervention.
Individualized Treatment
Consultation is a great option for older children or for caregivers looking to take a more hands-on role in their child’s therapeutic journey. Offered in-person, via telehealth, or over the phone, these sessions provide caregivers with strategies, resources, and professional guidance to support progress at home and beyond.

“As a mom and former kindergarten teacher, I can’t say enough wonderful things about Kelly at Seawinds Pediatrics. Her play-based approach is not only developmentally appropriate but also incredibly fun and engaging—my son lights up the moment he sees her walking to our door. She connects with him on his level in a way that builds trust and confidence, making every session something he genuinely looks forward to. We’ve seen noticeable improvements in his reflexes and overall physical behavior, and we feel so grateful to have found someone who blends expertise with heart so effortlessly.”

“Kelly has been a wonderful addition to our 7 year old son's care. From the beginning, she approached our child with kindness, patience, and an understanding of his unique needs and strengths. Her sessions are not only effective but also filled with joy and creativity, tailored to match our child’s interests and sensory profile. She has helped him build confidence, develop motor and emotional regulation skills, and most importantly, feel seen and understood. He looks forward to his sessions every week.
